Corvette Rebuild

9 November 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 10 November 2019 @ 6:00 pm

We are at it again folks everyone had so much fun taking apart this 75 Stingray in the Body Off weekend and the feedback from all who participated was so positive that we have decided to move forward with phase 2, rebuilding a Corvette from the ground up begining with the Chassis.

This is a fantastic chance to get your hands dirty and see parts of these cars you may never have seen before, Corvettes share a lot of similarites across different models, so learning how these cars are put together is useful to most Corvette owners.

Saturday 9th, 10 am chassis to arrive at Chev Club.

12.00 dismantling and setting up. Afternoon of chatting and playing with parts.

Sunday 10am, bare chassis,  commence reinstallation of components.

Timing of sections to be compiled, and made available to members at a future time.

Manufacturing of brake lines.

Discussions of how and why components are the way they are.

Cut away calliper for inspection, (if I remember to bring it.)

Bleeding of brakes ( vacuum and pedal styles), pressure bleeding if someone else brings the tooling, (I don’t have this arrangement.)

I am aiming for a 6pm conclusion to the fun, with packing up possible after this. This is all conjecture as no one has a real idea how long any section will take or how much time will be spent talking and not reattaching parts.
