Chev Club Concours 2002 |
Annual Club Concours d' Elegance - December 2002What an absolutely brilliant day. The Gods shined on all of us today, the weather was just perfect. Unfortunately for those of you who did not turn up you missed one of our Clubs Great Days of the Year! The Calibre of all the cars on show today was exceptional and of very high standard. How difficult it must have been for the judges to find faults with these cars. All of you should be proud and I take my hat of to you guys and girls for the cleanliness, shine and presentation of your cars. The Cars that won in their categories were as listed below... Authentic Sports Best of the Best. - Winners of 2001 Now Winner 2002 Alfred Arena won this Category with his 1950 Chev Styleline Sedan Royal Blue. I will never forget the first time I was on the gate poor Alfred hit the post coming into the oval. I didnt know where to look and I am sure Alfred and Atonia nearly cried. But that year they still took home a trophy and have never looked back since. This car is of very high presentation and a credit to its owners. Well done Alfred and Antonia. Thanks to all the winners we expect to see you next year to go up against each other! Many thanks must go to our Organiser Gerry McQuigan who did a tremendous job with June his wifes help. To Nola and George for the wonderful salads and help in the kitchen, Nola is a valued member of this Club. Our Cook David Beale. Diane (Gerry and Junes daughter) who helped on her laptop and scores. To Jon and Ellen Burstow for the printing of photos. John Reid for his help parking of cars. Geoff Taylor helping me with the childrens games. Maureen Murray for the Raffle. Our Judges from Corvettes of Melbourne and all our wonderful members who judged on the day. All of you contributed to the success of this day.
