Chev Club Concours 2002

Annual Club Concours d' Elegance - December 2002

What an absolutely brilliant day. The Gods shined on all of us today, the weather was just perfect. Unfortunately for those of you who did not turn up you missed one of our Clubs Great Days of the Year!

The Calibre of all the cars on show today was exceptional and of very high standard. How difficult it must have been for the judges to find faults with these cars. All of you should be proud and I take my hat of to you guys and girls for the cleanliness, shine and presentation of your cars.

The Cars that won in their categories were as listed below...

Authentic
Peter McKenzie, Who won this category with his beautiful Red 1962 Impala Coupe, Peter said he only decided to show his car on the Thursday before the concours. Peter we hope you have no hesitation in showing your car next year as you will go up against the best. Peter is one of our long-standing members in the Club #64 he is also the Swap Meeting Co-Coordinator for the Club. Well done Peter and Carol.

Sports
Jim Gramms won this Category, with his beautiful Corvette Callaway Twin Turbo Yellow Coupe. He has been with the Club now for 3 years but has been a great and enthusiastic member, who does not hesitate to put up his hand and help. Jim is a member of Corvettes Of Melbourne also as Merchandiser. Anyone interested in Model Cars just ring Jim or see him at Swap Meetings. Well done Jim and Georgia.

Modified
Clifford Evans won this Category, with 1960 Chevy Sport Coupe Pale Blue. Clifford I gather has had the car a couple of years. Clifford has maintained this car to perfection and was a well worthy winner of this category. Well done Clifford and Karellyn

Commercial
Peter Williamson won this Category with his 1951 Chevy Utility. Peter Lives, Breathes and Drives Trucks for a living. So what better cars for someone like himself to have? Peter has done all the work and done an excellent job maintaining this beautiful Utility which has also won an award and picked by our members on one of our runs as the most popular car that people wanted to drive. Well done Peter and Janniece.

Best of the Best. - Winners of 2001 Now Winner 2002

Alfred Arena won this Category with his 1950 Chev Styleline Sedan Royal Blue. I will never forget the first time I was on the gate poor Alfred hit the post coming into the oval. I didn’t know where to look and I am sure Alfred and Atonia nearly cried. But that year they still took home a trophy and have never looked back since. This car is of very high presentation and a credit to its owners. Well done Alfred and Antonia.
