Saturday 6th of September - Picnic at Muckleford.
The Victorian Goldfields Railway, running between Maldon and Castlemaine is a popular destination with car and motor cycle clubs. A number of our members also belong to a range of car clubs. Many visiting groups have suggested the appeal of an activity involving both our steam and diesel trains and historic vehicles and machinery. Out of this “Picnic at Muckleford” was born.
We would like to invite members of your organization to display vehicles and other historic equipment and machinery at our event on Saturday 6th September 2008 between 10am and 5pm. Sponsors of the event include Shannons and the Bendigo Bank.
Admission to the event for display vehicles and one passenger is free. Train tickets are available for purchase on the day. It is intended to have at least two of our steam trains and Diesel Electric Rail Motor (DERM Passenger vehicle) operating on the day.
Muckleford Railway Station is midway between Maldon and Castlemaine. The site is an attractive location of about fifteen acres.
As well as catering for Car and train enthusiasts there will be a range of displays including local wines and produce, craft and hobby displays, live entertainment and children’s activities. The event will offer something for everyone. Click here for flyers for the event. If any of your members are able to attend please let me know.
