Club Library

As the Librarian for the Chev Club I am happy to say the Library has finally been completed. I have only one thing left to do is actually log the books into the computer. Saturday I spent from 9am till 4pm to finally finish this huge task that has taken me over a year on and off to complete.
This room was worse than Step toe and Sons back yard.

You have got a printer in the library for your convenience. Books will not be permitted to leave the library on any circumstances. You have a jar place 20cents per sheet if you would like to duplicate anything while you are at your meetings.
The Library doors will be open for all to peruse at your convenience
You have a couple of chairs to either sit in there while the meeting are going and read to your hearts content. I do ask please place books where you removed them. Eventually I will have the books numbered,

Our books date right back to 1920 so we have some very very valuable books which are locked in steel cabinets. These are some very rare books on some very old models Chevs.
We have a very large collection of Trucks and Military Chev Books.
Books on the shelves are in their Alphabetical Order for example
Buick's, Cadillac's, Corsair, Corvettes, Chevettes, Camaros, Pontiacs, Oldsmobile's, Vestas and more.

Inside the steel cabinets you will find your model in the General Section Chevrolets. Under the Year [not models], starting from 1920 right through to about 1990's.
We have a Video section unfortunately we have not much in there.
We have a section of Old magazines for example Street Cars a few old Corvette magazines and of course we have our Bow Ties in year order on the shelves.
I have managed to put these in year by two sets of volumes, so that one can be borrowed.
One is a master copy that will not be removed and one can be borrowed and you can log it out. If you don't bring the book back you will receive a fine just as you do at Libraries. $5.00 fine

Please enjoy this part of Your Club and if I can be of any help to people who are in the Country or interstate or O/seas or who just cant make it to the Clubrooms for genuine reasons please do not hesitate to send me an Email or phone me and I will do my upmost to help you find what you are looking for.

Also if you have any books, video's you feel you no longer need The Club could share with others and wish to donate them. Please feel free to call me and we can arrange for them to be picked up or bring them in at your next meeting.
Please Do Not Leave Boxes inside the Library from now on, it has taken me too long to get the Library up and running and in the condition its in now for all to use and enjoy.
Books can be left outside Library Door marked to my attention.
Thanks

My next task would be if the Building Officers and Committee agree to have a Memorabile Display in which I am sure you have a few very old things out there we could put behind a glass type of cabinet. I will have to discuss this with the committee and get their approval. But I do not want Body Parts Please we have enough of those in the building.
The Committee will not be pleased if I receive huge body parts and gear boxes, they will not be amused, neither will I. Badges, flags, what ever you think would be suitable.
As I said this has been a massive task and now we can reap the benefits of our Clubrooms and enjoy what your Committee People and their Very Good Wives put into this Club. I have enjoyed this large task that was bestowed on me as I can now see the results. A good Library.

Wanted all types of Chev Manual any age please.

Thanks must go to Gerry McGuiggan for his help by doing the shelves for me. Les Whitehead and Barbara Goldman who always volunteers her help whenever needed she has a heart of Gold. Barbara will remember the spiders and the creepy crawlies that were visiting the books, now all removed.
You are all safe now to visit the library with no creepy crawly visitors.

Please enjoy your Library
