1957 Chevrolet 210 4 door sedan Grey and White – Blue Flame 6 cylinder engine.

Purchased by Frank Harrison (my uncle) from Arnott's Garage Benalla early November 1957.
My first experience driving this car was late November 1957 on the Hume Highway between Melbourne & Benalla. I remember thinking I was in Seventh Heaven - 57th!
While I was obviously aware of its existence during the next 23 yrs.
It was not until the approach of 1980 & Frank's indication that he was going to move it on (he'd acquired a '64 Impala in the interim) that the idea of owning such a gem occurred to me. It was my good fortune that neither of his two sons - my cousins - had any interest in Chevs!
Consequently since early 1980 I have been the proud owner of this beautiful automobile which was originally assembled at G.M.' s Fishermans Bend plant after import from the States. I have had KOC882 registered since it came into my possession & so have had 23 years of ownership enjoyment.

My mechanical knowledge is limited and little has changed, but I have a competent & helpful specialist who has assisted me to keep the vehicle in good order. Joining the Chevrolet Car Club & particularly associating with the other local members of the Northern Chapter has been very worthwhile. Information exchange has assisted me to complete a number of small projects & so make the 210 better still. With advice (!!!) I have fitted a new set of tyres & now I feel I have power steering! My fellow club members suggested that it was time to remove the set that I had had on this car since 1980 - they were becoming a little hard!

Future plans? Well I don't think I have the persistence to do a major restoration, but over the years to come ,as I choose to allocate funds, I will upgrade certain areas. What I don't complete between now & when I'm 100, one or all of my four sons will finish in the future!!
I think I can safely say that KOC882 will remain in the Harrison family.
