Rick's 1976 Pontiac Trans Am Member Name: Rick Ejlak Vehicle: 1976 Pontiac Trans Am, 6.6 litre 3 Speed Auto Reason for Purchase: Kids Finally Left Home! Originally I was after a 73 Corvette but the financial advisor (wife) wouldn’t release the $40K required for my hobby. My next option was a 60’s Chevy impala or similar, with V8 of course. After researching I found that the measurements (width) would make it impossible to drive into my garage!!!!! After more consultation with the financial advisor (wife again) it was not considered practical to sell the house to ensure that my car would be able to be housed appropriately. Many more months of research was required till I found a car that appealed to me, the TransAm it was. Surprisingly the wife agreed and the car was purchased. After a few late nights, and dollars, later it was registered & on the road for a few laps of Dean Street. Reaction was good so all was set to start a small spending spree to customise it to my specifications. Unfortunately, the financial advisor (wife) decided
that we needed to renovate part of the house, (I should have seen
it coming) so all the car plans are on hold. No matter, we both get
out with the Chevy Club and enjoy the outings and talking cars with
other members.
