Here is an article written by Vette Magazine
about one of our club members, Mal Pitcher...
Awesome
Aussie!
Mal Pitcher has been a volunteer fire fighter with the Country Fire Authority
in Stawell, Victoria for 17 years. For three years, mal has owned and
bee working on a beige over bronze 1981 coupe.
The importer that Mal bought the Shark from, shipped it from California,
where apparently it spent its whole life after being sold brand new by
Joe MacPherson Chevrolet in Irvine, California.
Mal always wanted a Corvette and sold the '36 Australian-bodied Chevy
Businessman Roadster he'd been building in order to get his dream car.
The '81 Shark needed some TLC, and Mal has been busy delivering just that,
having, rebuilt the carburettor, replacing the radiator, front bushings,
interior, and door seals (among other things). The Vette is, and always
will remain, a left-hand drive car, even though it now resides Down Under.
Thus Mal can't register the Vette until its 25th birthday because of right
hand laws, but that gives him some time to finish the restoration.
