Save the Date! – 40th National Chevrolet Festival

By the time October is here you’ll deserve a break from the daily grind, so why not head over to Mt. Gambier for the 40th National Chevrolet Festival, hosted by the Chevrolet Performance Association of S.A.

Held over a massive (long!) weekend from the 21st-24th October 2016, there will be a number of fun activities, including BBQ’s, Show’n’Shine, Quiz Night, Cruises, Street Parades, Presentation Dinner and maybe even some early bird driving events!

Don’t forget to get your accommodation sorted early. The Comfort Inn “Silver Birch” have just informed us they will be holding rooms until the end of March. Please book as a group if possible. We will look at further preferred accommodation depending on bookings.

The committee are heading back down to Mt. Gambier early next month to finalise our itinerary and we hope to have entry forms available not long after that. Stay tuned folks…

Website Launch!

After an extremely complex and lengthy rebuild of the Chevrolet Car Club’s website, we are finally at a place to be able to launch the site!

Some things are still having final touches applied, however these should not stop our members from experiencing all that our new site has to offer. There were a number of pages from the old website that have been retired, however, in place of these we have some brand new functionality including the below new and improved areas:

  • Electronic Bow-tie issues, including past archive (which will grow as we obtain more electronic copies)
  • A more detailed Events Calendar with the ability to download/print a single month’s worth of events or even download to your own personal calendar
  • A complete digital classifieds area including ad management, multiple photos and auto-expiry (you can renew your ad indefinitely, but you will be prompted every 30 days to renew)
  • Our own forum – helpful for discussions, technical hints and tips and showing us your pride and joy!
  • A members area with the ability to renew your membership electronically through Paypal. This also has an archive of your invoices and membership information that you can edit.
  • An updated gallery with larger images and easier navigation

Please note: If you are an “Applicant” member, there are certain pages that will not be available until you become a “Financial” member. This change occurs after the Committee Meeting on the last Wednesday of each month where all applicants are review and approved. You will be notified via email upon this change also.

Additional functionality and changes/fixes will occur over the coming months to ensure that the new site is at it’s full potential. Please report any bugs to bugs@chevcarclubvic.org.au and make sure you let us know what you were trying to do, what you were expecting to happen and what actually happened.

Have fun!

We meet for morning tea at the famous Lavender Tea Rooms, Bunyip and then on to Warragul for the Warragul Farmers Market. Lots of tastings and local products. Display parking has been arranged.  Our cavalcade winds its way to the Holden Museum in Trafalgar which is a must see with a fabulous display of GM cars and history. Half price entry. Then it’s on through the rolling hills of Gippsland to the Coal Creek Motel Korumburra. Here we will ‘play & stay’ with an evening meal and lots of fun. In the morning explore Coal Creek and a free lunch follows in a lovely park. Go on the run or part or join us on the Sunday for lunch.
