When dealing online, beware of shady characters trying to relieve you of your cash or property. Always establish the bona fides of the person you are dealing with, and:

  - if you are selling, don’t hand over the goods until you have confirmed payment
  - if you are buying, use a secure payment system (e.g. Paypal)
