52nd Birthday Run

2026 year is our 52nd Birthday and we’re off to Warnambool for our annual Birthday Run
CCCV’s 52nd BIRTHDAY RUN to “WARRNAMBOOL” 23rd/24th May.
The aim is to arrive at the Clubrooms between 8 / 8.15am, get ourselves organized and leave at 8.30 am…. stragglers beware!!
The first “collection point” is the Westgate United Servo with us arriving at around 9 am with a 9.10 am departure.
Next drive-through is the Laverton Shell Servo at around 9.30 am.
with us departing at 9.40 am so, it’s very much pick up and go here.
Finally, “Les from the West “will join us at Winchelsea in the 60 KPH zone by the creek at around 10.35am
Look for the old Chev with the bonnet up if you wish to join him here.
Now, it is straight to COLAC for a coffee / food stop.
Prue Borenstein has arranged for the LAKEVIEW CAFÉ to be especially open for us and it is at 1 FYANS Rd….…. on the lake foreshore
Better than Navman …simply turn right at the lights at the end of the park in the main drag and you will see public toilets (clean) on the right with coffee shops on the left.…keep going straight until you are in the Colac Lake Carpark with an old house on your right.
This is the café (do not be fooled) it opens to a decked undercover area with great views.
Suggest we allow around 45 mins here and push off at 11.40am.
We should arrive in Warrnambool at around 1.30pm.
Our first stop is the MONTGOMERY AUTO MUSEUM 77 Flaxman St
This is actually the Fletcher Jones Complex and thanks to Corrine Summerhayes the Auto Museum will be specially opened for us, between 2 and 5 pm with a $10 entry fee…. please have this ready.
We suggest you concentrate on the classics as tomorrow there is time to view the rest of the attraction if that interests you.

We are booked into the Warrnambool RSL Corner Merri Street &, Liebig St, (parking off Artillery Crescent) for dinner at 6.30 pm
It adjoins the Merri St. / Leibig St roundabout. Loose directions would say the RSL. is on the roundabout with an in driveway running from the front carpark. there is extra parking under the rear as well in front of the building.
On Sunday morning we will meet up at the Pavilion Café and Bar at 50 Viaduct Rd between 8.30/9am for a refreshing coffee and easy start to the day and while enjoying this “pick me up” we will be located right on the foreshore fighting the seagulls for the hot fries or any other food not carefully watched.
At say 10am we will make our way to Allansford (11km say 15min) to arrive at the Clubrooms of The Warrnambool and District Historical Vehicle Club located at 134 Ziegler St where both Clubs can enjoy a joint display of our classic vehicles over a coffee while engaging in some friendly banter between fellow enthusiasts.
At around 11.30 am after sharing WDHVC’s hospitality, we will travel to Camperdown to explore Laurie Vautier’s old car and collectables huge shed which is behind the old butter factory at 255 Manifold St.
Note there is a $10 pp. entry charge here.
At 1.45pm we will relocate a short distance to the lunch venue the COMMERCIAL HOTEL which is just down the road at 115 Manifold St for our birthday celebration.
Even if you cannot join us for the Warrnambool run please consider a day trip and catch up with us at the Commercial for a bit of the usual CCCV birthday revelry as it will be worth the drive I
