Australian Gliding Museum

BALLAN / BACCHUS MARSH / TARNEIT RUN – SUNDAY 13^TH SEPTEMBER 2026

Join us for a Sunday car club run to the western districts. Meet up as a group at the 7-Eleven Servo / McDonalds at the Western Ring Rd Sunshine. From there we track west to the beautiful country town of Ballan and stop for a light breakfast / coffee / snacks at the lovely Shezza’s Diner. After a quick bite and quenching our thirst, we head back towards Bacchus Marsh and detour a little south to the Bacchus Marsh Airfield at Parwan. Here we will be greeted by the president of the Australian Gliding Museum who will take us on a guided tour through the facility which has the largest museum collection of gliders in Australia. Included in the minimal cost is coffee & cake. We then head off towards Werribee and divert up to Tarneit to the Hotel 520 for a bistro lunch meal. After plenty of laughs and partaking in a social drink we can each head off home from here at our leisure. Meeting Point 8.45 AM – 7-ELEVEN Servo / McDONALDS Western Ring Road, Sunshine

Outbound Carpark – DEPARTING 9.00 AM Sharp driving westward (M8) towards Ballan   

1st Stop (Arrive approx. 9.45 AM) – SHEZZA’S DINER, BALLAN – 145 INGLIS STREET, BALLAN                 OPEN for members to purchase a Light Breakfast OR Café Snacks & Coffee

RETURN TO CARS 10.30AM FOR DEPARTING and drive back towards Bacchus Marsh        

2nd Stop (Arrive approx. 11.00AM) – AUSTRALIAN GLIDING MUSEUM, Bacchus Marsh Airfield, PARWAN  (5 Mins drive south of Bacchus Marsh township). Home of the largest museum collection of Gliders in Australia. They collect, preserve and restore vintage gliders, especially those significant to the development of the sport of gliding in Australia. We have been offered a Guided Tour of the facility (approx. 1 Hour) AND Coffee & Cake for the minimal cost of $15pp. 

RETURN TO CARS 12.30PM FOR DEPARTING and drive towards Werribee along Ballan Road (C703) and then divert to Tarneit for Lunch

3^rd Stop (Arrive approx. 1.15PM) – HOTEL 520, 520 SAYERS ROAD, TARNEIT                                                   LUNCH BOOKING 1.15PM – SEATING AREA BOOKED – BISTRO MEALS AS PER MENU AT INDIVIDUALS COST PARKING – OFF STREET PARKING at site.

RUN CONCLUDED – Head home from here.
